How to create QR codes for Wi-Fi, WhatsApp, and contact cards
Choose the QR code type that matches the task: a web page, Wi-Fi network, contact card, or WhatsApp message. LentoCircle creates the code in your browser and lets you download a customized PNG or SVG.
Create a QR codeChoose the right QR code for the job
- URL: A menu, product page, booking form, or social profile.
- Wi-Fi: Let guests connect without typing the network name and password.
- Contact card: Add a name, phone number, email, and website to a phone’s contacts.
- Event: Share event details that can be added to a calendar.
- IBAN: Share an IBAN, recipient, amount, and payment note as scannable text.
- Email, phone, or WhatsApp: Start an action in the relevant app after scanning.
The IBAN option creates scannable text; it is not a bank payment QR code. Check the recipient and amount in your banking app before making a payment.
Create and download your QR code
- 1
Choose a QR type
Select URL, Wi-Fi, contact card, event, IBAN, email, phone, or WhatsApp.
- 2
Enter the details
Add only the information you want encoded. Double-check the web address or Wi-Fi network name.
- 3
Customize the design
Choose colors, a logo, and a frame. Keep strong contrast between the code and its background.
- 4
Scan and test it
Use another phone to scan the code and check the destination or text. Then download it as PNG or SVG.
Check the code before printing
If you plan to put the code on a poster, menu, or package, print a sample at its final size first. Test it on different phones, in normal lighting, and from the distance where people will scan it.
A Wi-Fi QR code contains the network details and may include its password. Anyone who can scan a publicly displayed code may be able to join the network, so choose where you share it carefully.
The QR fields in this module are processed in your browser. Their contents are not sent to LentoCircle’s server.
